Day 1: Drive from Rishikesh to Chopta (8-9 hours | 200 km)

  • Start early from Rishikesh and enjoy the scenic drive through Devprayag, Rudraprayag, and Ukhimath.

  • Arrive in Chopta by evening and check into your campsite or guesthouse.

  • Explore the lush green meadows and enjoy the sunset with a warm bonfire.

Day 2: Trek from Chopta to Tungnath Temple & Chandrashila Peak (10 km | 6-7 hours)

  • Start the trek early in the morning, ascending through rhododendron forests.

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun), around 210 km from Chopta. Taxis are available from the airport.

The nearest railway station is Haridwar Railway Station (225 km). From there, take a taxi or bus to Chopta.

Chopta is well-connected by road. You can take a bus or taxi from Rishikesh, Haridwar, or Dehradun. Self-driving is also an option, but the roads can be challenging in winter.
